AI Text Detector
Paste your text to check it for AI-writing patterns. This tool uses transparent, explainable heuristics — sentence burstiness, repetition, word patterns and typical AI phrases — and gives you a 0 to 100 likelihood score with a full per-signal breakdown.
Signal breakdown (higher bar = more AI-like)
How to use
- Paste the text you want to check into the box above (aim for at least 100 words).
- Click Analyze text to get the score and the per-signal breakdown.
- Read the signal bars to see exactly which patterns pushed the score up or down.
What the six signals measure
- Burstiness: human writing mixes short and long sentences; AI text is often uniformly paced.
- Repetition rate: repeated words and trigrams are more common in machine-generated prose.
- AI phrase markers: words like "delve", "moreover" and "in conclusion" appear disproportionately in AI drafts.
- Em-dash frequency: heavy em-dash use is a known stylistic fingerprint of current AI models.
- Word-length spread: the mix of short and long words is compared to a natural range.
- Common-word ratio: texts built almost entirely from the most common words look more machine-like.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does this AI text detector work?
It scores your text with six transparent heuristics, such as sentence-length burstiness, word repetition, em-dash frequency and common AI phrases, and combines them into a 0 to 100 likelihood score.
Is the AI detection result definitive?
No. No detector is definitive, including this one. The score is indicative only and should never be used as proof in academic or professional decisions.
How much text do I need for a meaningful result?
At least 100 words gives reasonable signal; longer samples of 300 words or more produce a much more stable score.
Is my text uploaded or stored anywhere?
No. All analysis runs locally in your browser with JavaScript. Your text never leaves your device.
