How to use

  1. Enter the total car price in Rupees and your down payment (as a percent of the price or as an amount).
  2. Select the loan tenure from 1 to 7 years and set the annual markup rate.
  3. The monthly installment, total markup and year-wise table appear instantly.

How the EMI is calculated

The monthly installment uses the standard reducing-balance formula: EMI = P x r x (1+r)n / ((1+r)n - 1), where P is the financed amount (car price minus down payment), r is the monthly markup rate (annual rate / 12 / 100), and n is the number of months. With a 20% annual markup, 30% down payment on Rs 2,500,000 over 4 years, the EMI is about Rs 58,000 per month. Note: this tool does not include bank processing fees, insurance or tracker charges, which increase the real cost.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is the car installment (EMI) calculated?

The calculator uses the standard reducing-balance formula: monthly EMI = P x r x (1+r)^n / ((1+r)^n - 1), where P is the financed amount after down payment, r is the monthly markup rate and n is the number of monthly installments.

Can I enter the down payment as a percent or as an amount?

Yes. Type the down payment in Rupees, or tick the percent option to enter it as a percentage of the car price. The financed amount is updated automatically.

What loan tenure can I select?

You can select a tenure from 1 to 7 years, which are the loan terms commonly offered by banks in Pakistan.

Are the markup rates here the final bank rates?

No. The default rate of 20 percent per year is only an estimate for planning. Actual bank rates, processing fees and insurance differ from bank to bank, so always confirm the final offer with the bank.

How is the financed amount calculated?

The financed amount is the car price minus the down payment. When the percent option is on, the down payment equals the car price times the percent divided by 100.
