How to use
- Add each student to the roster using the name field and the Add student button.
- Pick a point event and type an optional reason, then tap Award next to a student to add points or Deduct to subtract.
- Check the leaderboard to see ranked totals, averages and which students need encouragement.
- Use Print summary to export the log as a printable report for records or parent meetings.
Note: Keep events consistent — small, frequent points work better than rare big ones. Data is stored only in this browser with localStorage and never leaves your device.
Tips
- Explain the events to the class at the start of the week so students know what earns points.
- Give quiet students a reason entry even for small answers — early wins build the habit.
- Reset each term or month so new students start fresh alongside everyone else.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does the class participation tracker work?
You add your students to the roster, then award points with one tap whenever a student answers, helps a classmate or presents. Totals, averages and a leaderboard update instantly as you log events.
Can I deduct points as well as award them?
Yes. Every student row has an award button and a deduct button, so you can record both positive participation and interruptions.
What point events can I log?
Answering in class plus 1, helping a classmate plus 2, presenting plus 3, an excellent contribution plus 5, interruption minus 1 and off-task behavior minus 2. You can also add an optional reason.
Is my class data sent to a server?
No. The roster and point log are stored only in your browser with localStorage, so your class data never leaves your device.
