Committee BC Calculator
Full savings committee (BC) calculation — monthly share, members, your number, and the loss if you took the committee on a bid. It also shows the present value using a monthly profit rate for the time value of money.
How to use
- Enter each member's monthly share and the total members.
- Write your number — in which month you get the committee.
- If you took the committee early on a bid, write the bid discount percentage.
- See the total payment, the amount you receive, and the profit or loss. The present value line also counts the value of time — the benefit of an early number shows there.
Note
In cash terms without a bid, the total paid and received are equal; the real difference comes from the timing of your number and the bid discount, which the present value line shows. Committee rules can be different in every group.
Tips
- Without a bid, the total you pay and receive are equal — the real difference comes from timing and bid discounts.
- An early number is worth more in present-value terms; the tool shows this on the present value line.
- Confirm the group's rules on bids, defaults and late payments before joining.
- Keep a written record of every draw — informal committees run on trust plus records.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does the committee calculator show?
The total pool collected in one month, your total contributions for the full cycle, the payout you receive after any bid discount, your cash profit or loss, and the present value benefit.
What inputs do I enter?
Monthly share per member, total members, your number in the rotation, the bid discount percent, and an editable monthly profit rate for the time value.
What does the present value line tell me?
It discounts future payouts using the monthly profit rate you enter, so you can see the real time-value benefit of taking your number early or late in the rotation.
If I take the committee on a bid, do I lose money?
A bid discount lowers your payout. The calculator shows your cash profit or loss after the discount, so you can see exactly what taking it early costs you.
Are committee rules the same in every group?
No. Committee rules can be different in every group, so treat the results as a planning estimate based on the figures you enter.
