CSV to Markdown Table
Turn spreadsheet data into clean Markdown tables for GitHub, docs, and wikis. Paste CSV or upload a file, set alignment per column, and copy the result. Everything runs in your browser.
The rendered table preview will appear here.
- Paste CSV data or upload a .csv file.
- Pick the delimiter (comma, semicolon, or tab) and tell the tool whether the first row is a header.
- The table updates live as you type. Set left, center, or right alignment for each column.
- Copy the Markdown or download it as a .md file.
Quoted fields are handled correctly: commas, line breaks, and double quotes inside "quotes" are all preserved. Pipes inside cells are escaped so tables never break.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Will the Markdown table work on GitHub?
Yes. The generated table uses standard GitHub Flavored Markdown syntax with pipes and a separator row, so it renders correctly in GitHub READMEs, issues, and pull requests.
Does it handle commas inside quoted fields?
Yes. The parser follows real CSV rules: fields wrapped in double quotes can contain commas, line breaks, and escaped quotes (two double quotes become one).
How do I set column alignment?
After your CSV is parsed, a dropdown appears above each column where you can choose left, center, or right alignment. The separator row updates automatically.
Can I use a semicolon or tab as the delimiter?
Yes. Use the delimiter selector to choose comma, semicolon, or tab before parsing. The same parser handles all three.
