How it works
- Enter the CIF value (cost + insurance + freight) in PKR.
- Select the engine size band, the vehicle age band, and the fuel type.
- The tool first applies the age depreciation to get the dutiable value, then adds customs duty and regulatory duty, then applies 18% sales tax and 4% advance income tax on the running total.
- Review each line item and the estimated landed cost. Use the result only as a guide.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is car import duty estimated in Pakistan?
The calculator applies published FBR-style slabs to the CIF value after an age depreciation allowance: customs duty and regulatory duty on the dutiable value, then sales tax and advance income tax on the accumulated total.
Do older cars pay less import duty?
Yes. Used cars get a depreciation allowance on the CIF value by age, from 0 percent for a new car up to 30 percent for cars over five years old, which lowers the dutiable value.
Do hybrid and electric cars get duty relief?
Yes. Hybrids pay 50 percent of the standard customs duty rate and electric vehicles pay 25 percent, which can cut the total tax bill significantly.
Is this the final amount I will pay at the port?
No. This is an estimate based on published FBR-style slabs. Rates and valuations change, so verify the final figures with a licensed clearing agent before paying.
