Flexbox Layout Visualizer

Change the controls below and watch the live preview update instantly. Copy the generated CSS into your own project.

Container controls
Decides the main axis: row places items side by side, column stacks them.
Moves items along the main axis: start, end, middle, or spread apart.
Moves items along the cross axis (for a row, that means up and down).
Decides whether items overflow in one line or wrap into new lines.
Works only when items wrap: positions the whole lines, like justify-content for lines.
Space between every item, without margin hacks.
How many demo boxes to show in the container.
Gives every item flex: 1 so they grow equally and share all free space.
Makes each box a different height so you can see alignment differences clearly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does the Flexbox Layout Visualizer do?

It is an interactive playground where you change flex-direction, justify-content, align-items, wrap, gap and the number of items, and a live preview updates at once. The matching container CSS is generated for you to copy.

What is flex-direction?

It sets the main axis of the container: row lays items left to right, column lays them top to bottom, and the reverse values flip the order.

What is the difference between justify-content and align-items?

Justify-content positions items along the main axis (for example left, center, or spaced apart), while align-items positions them along the cross axis, such as top, middle, or stretched to fill.

How does the flex-grow demo work?

Turning on flex-grow gives every item flex: 1 so they grow equally and share the free space in the container, showing how flexible sizing behaves.

Is the generated CSS free to use in my projects?

Yes, the CSS is standard and free to copy into any project, and nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
