Capacity check
How to use
- Enter your monthly income target and your hourly rate.
- Set how many billable hours you can really do per day and how many days per week.
- Optionally add your average project and client values.
- Read your weekly plan and check the capacity bar.
Tips
- Only count billable hours — most freelancers bill 60 to 70 percent of working time.
- If the capacity bar goes over 100 percent, raise your rate before adding hours.
- Keep 2 to 3 active clients so losing one does not cut your income to zero.
- Review the plan monthly and adjust the rate as your skills grow.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How does the income goal planner work?
Enter your monthly income target and hourly rate. The planner calculates how many billable hours you need per month, per week and per day, and how many clients or projects that means.
What if my goal needs more hours than I have?
The planner shows a warning when the required hours exceed your capacity. Raise your rate, find higher value projects, or increase your available hours.
How does the capacity check work?
It compares the hours your goal needs with the hours you actually have from your billable hours per day and working days per week. If the capacity bar goes over 100 percent, your goal does not fit your schedule.
How are the projects and clients needed calculated?
From the optional average project value and average monthly value per client you enter. The planner divides your income target by those values to estimate how many you need.
