Function Graph Plotter
Plot any math function on an interactive coordinate grid. Type an expression like x^2 or sin(x), zoom in and out, and compare up to three graphs in different colors.

How to use
- Type a function with x as the variable, for example
x^2,sin(x)orsqrt(x). - Press Plot. The curve draws on the grid with numbered axes.
- Use Zoom In and Zoom Out to inspect details, or set the X and Y ranges by hand.
- Add a second or third function to compare shapes on the same grid.
Supported: numbers, x, + - * / ^ (power), parentheses, sin cos tan, asin acos atan, sqrt, abs, log (natural log), exp, pi, e. Multiplication needs a star: write 2*x, not 2x. Your input is checked against a strict character whitelist and converted safely — no code you type is ever run as-is.
Tips
- Compare
x^2with2*xto see exactly where a curve and a line cross. - Zoom into the x-axis to read roots (where the curve crosses y = 0) more precisely.
- Functions like
tan(x)have gaps where they are undefined — the plotter breaks the line there instead of drawing a false vertical line. - Use parentheses to be explicit:
sin(x)^2means (sin x) squared, whilesin(x^2)means sin of x squared.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I plot a function?
Type the function in the box using x as the variable, for example x^2 or sin(x), then press Plot. The graph draws on the coordinate grid instantly.
What functions and operators are supported?
The operators plus, minus, times, divide and power (^), parentheses, and the functions sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, sqrt, abs, log (natural log) and exp, plus the constants pi and e.
Can I compare more than one function?
Yes. Enter up to three functions and each one is drawn in its own color on the same grid, with a legend below the graph.
How do I zoom or change the view range?
Use the Zoom In and Zoom Out buttons, or type custom X min, X max, Y min and Y max values in the View range fields to focus on any part of the graph.
