HTML Table to Markdown Converter

Paste any HTML that contains tables and get clean Markdown table syntax instantly — every table detected, merged cells handled, with preview, copy and download.

No tables detected yet.
Copied to clipboard.

How to use

  1. Paste HTML containing one or more <table> elements into the input box.
  2. Adjust the options: alignment row, header row, pipe escaping and column alignment.
  3. Click Convert Tables. Each table gets its own tab with a rendered preview.
  4. Copy the Markdown of the active table, copy all tables at once, or download a .md file.

Tips

  • colspan and rowspan merges are unfolded into a regular grid so the Markdown stays valid.
  • Nested tables are treated as separate tables and get their own tabs.
  • Links and images inside cells become their plain text content; line breaks inside cells become spaces.
  • Everything runs locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How do I convert an HTML table to Markdown?

Paste the HTML into the input box. The tool finds every table, converts each one to Markdown table syntax, and shows the result instantly.

What happens to merged cells with colspan or rowspan?

Merged cells are unfolded into the grid: the cell value stays in the first position and the remaining spanned cells become empty, so every row keeps the same number of columns.

How are pipe characters in cell text handled?

Pipe characters conflict with Markdown table syntax, so the tool escapes them as backslash-pipe when the option is enabled. Turn the option off if you want the raw text.

Can I convert multiple tables at once?

Yes. Each table gets its own tab with a live rendered preview, and there is also a combined view with all tables together for one copy or download.

Is my HTML uploaded to a server?

No. Everything is parsed and converted inside your browser with the DOM API, so your data never leaves your device.
