How it is calculated
Subtotal = base fare + (distance × per-km rate of the chosen ride type) + (waiting minutes × per-minute waiting charge). The subtotal is multiplied by the surge factor to get the total fare. The fair offer range is 10% below and 10% above the total, since inDriver lets riders suggest their own price.
- Stay inside the fair offer range. Offers far below the range usually get rejected, while offers above it waste your money.
- Choose the right ride type. Moto is cheapest for short solo trips; Mini suits small groups; AC car is worth it for longer hot-day rides.
- Update rates for your city. Per-km prices differ between Karachi, Lahore and smaller cities — edit the rate settings once and the estimator stays accurate.
- Travel off-peak when possible. A 1x surge fare can be nearly half of a 2x surge fare for the same trip.
- Keep waiting time low. Long waits at stops add a per-minute charge, so plan pickup points that need no driver waiting.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is the inDriver fare estimated?
The fare equals a base fare plus the per-km rate of the selected ride type times the trip distance, plus a waiting charge per minute, all multiplied by the surge factor. Each part is shown separately in the breakdown.
Can I change the per-km rates?
Yes. Default rates for Moto, Mini and AC car are pre-filled, and every rate field on this page is editable so you can match current local prices before estimating.
What is the fair offer range?
The fair offer range is 10% below and 10% above the estimated total fare. Since inDriver lets you offer your own price, staying inside this range keeps your offer realistic for drivers.
What does the surge multiplier do?
The slider from 1x to 2x scales the whole fare up for busy times or bad weather. Set it to 1x for normal hours and raise it when demand is high.
