How to use
- Add each appliance with its watts and quantity.
- Select your inverter size and enter your battery bank capacity in amp-hours and volts.
- Click Check My Load to see an OK or OVERLOAD warning, the recommended inverter size, and the estimated backup runtime.
Usable watts = inverter kVA x 1000 x 0.8 power factor. For example, a 1 kVA inverter gives about 800 usable watts.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does this planner check?
It adds up the watts of your appliances and compares them with your inverter size. You get a clear OK or OVERLOAD warning, a recommended inverter size, and an estimated backup runtime in hours based on your battery bank.
Why does the tool assume 80 percent of the inverter rating?
Inverters are rated in kVA but home appliances draw watts. With a typical power factor of 0.8, a 1kVA inverter can safely supply about 800 watts. The planner uses this rule to decide if your load is safe.
What happens if the load is too high?
You get an OVERLOAD warning in red. That means the inverter would trip or get damaged. Either remove appliances or choose a bigger inverter size.
How is backup runtime estimated?
Battery energy in watt-hours is amp-hours times volts. The tool assumes 80 percent of that is usable, then divides by your total load in watts to give the runtime in hours.
Is this planner free to use?
Yes. It is free with no signup.
