Does the generator use tab characters for recipes?
Yes. Every recipe line in the generated Makefile starts with a real tab character, which make requires. A tab symbol is also shown in the preview so you can verify it.
Can I add and remove targets?
Yes. The page has an Add target button that creates a new row, and each row has a Remove button. You can define any number of targets, each with its own dependencies and commands.
What are phony targets for?
Phony targets are targets that are not real files, such as clean or all. You can mark any target as phony, and the tool adds it to a .PHONY line in the generated Makefile.
How do I save the generated Makefile?
Use the Copy button to copy the text to your clipboard, or the Download button to save it as a file named Makefile on your device.
