SSH Config Generator
Add your servers below, then copy or download a ready-to-use ~/.ssh/config file. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded anywhere.
~/.ssh/config# Add hosts above and your config will appear here.
SSH refuses to read a config file that other users can read or write. After saving the file, set strict permissions:
chmod 600 ~/.ssh/config
That means only your own user can read and write the file. Keep your private key files in ~/.ssh/ with the same chmod 600 protection.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does the SSH Config Generator do?
It builds a valid ~/.ssh/config file from the hosts you add, including the alias, hostname, user, port, identity file and ProxyJump fields you fill in.
What permissions should my ssh config file have?
The notes on the page recommend chmod 600 ~/.ssh/config so only you can read and write it.
Can I add more than one host?
Yes. Use the Add Host button to add as many hosts as you need, and each one becomes its own Host entry in the output.
Is the SSH Config Generator free?
Yes, it is completely free to use with no signup, and everything runs in your browser.
