How to use
- Log each reading session with the student name, book title, date and minutes.
- Set the weekly reading goal — students below it are highlighted on the leaderboard.
- Check weekly and monthly totals to track how reading habits grow across the term.
Note: Weeks run Monday to Sunday. All entries are stored only in this browser with localStorage.
Tips
- Start the weekly goal small — 60 to 90 minutes — and raise it as the habit forms.
- Praise the most-improved reader each week, not just the top reader.
- Let students log their own minutes during silent reading time to build ownership.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How do I log reading minutes for a student?
Enter the student name, book title, date and minutes read, then tap Add entry. The entry is saved in your browser and added to the student weekly, monthly and term totals instantly.
What does the weekly reading goal do?
Set a weekly minutes target and the leaderboard highlights every student below it, so you can see exactly who needs encouragement to read more.
Can I see which weeks had the most reading?
The class summary shows the current-week and current-month totals and averages, which update every time a new entry is added.
Can I clear all the log data?
Yes. The Delete all entries button removes every entry, which is useful when you start a new term.
