Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What does the tsconfig.json Generator do?
It builds a valid tsconfig.json for your TypeScript project. Choose a preset, adjust target, module, module resolution and strict flags, set your include and exclude paths, then copy the JSON or download it as tsconfig.json. Everything runs in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Which presets are available?
Node.js, React, Library and Strictest. Each preset fills in sensible target, module, module resolution, strict flags and emit options that you can still change afterwards.
Which compiler options can I change?
Target, module, module resolution, output directory, a strict master switch with individual flags such as strictNullChecks, noImplicitAny, noUnusedLocals, noUnusedParameters, exactOptionalPropertyTypes and noFallthroughCasesInSwitch, plus declaration files, source maps and esModuleInterop.
Is an include path required?
Yes. At least one include path is required. The generator warns you and blocks the download until you add one, for example src/**/*.
How do I use the generated file?
Copy the JSON or download it as tsconfig.json and place it in your project root. Then adjust the options, set your include paths, and copy or download the final file.
