How to use
- Enter your matric, inter and entry test percentages.
- Adjust the weights or pick a preset, then enter your program cutoff.
- Your aggregate, the gap and your chance band appear instantly.
Note
Aggregate = (matric times matric weight + inter times inter weight + test times test weight) divided by the total of the weights. This is an estimate only. Final merit lists depend on all applicants and seats, so confirm with your university.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
How is university merit calculated in Pakistan?
Merit is calculated by multiplying each of your percentages (matric, inter and entry test) by its weight, adding them, and dividing by the total weight. A common MDCAT style split is 10 percent matric, 40 percent inter and 50 percent entry test.
Can I change the merit weights?
Yes. Enter any weights you like, for example an ECAT style 10, 30, 60 split. If the weights do not add up to 100, the calculator normalises them automatically and tells you.
What cutoff should I compare my aggregate with?
Use the closing merit of the university and program you applied to, from the last admission cycle. The default cutoff is 75 percent, but you should always type the real published cutoff.
What does the admission chance band mean?
It is a simple guide based on the gap between your aggregate and your cutoff. It does not guarantee admission, because final merit lists depend on all applicants and available seats.
Is this calculator official?
No. It is a free estimation tool that runs in your browser. Always confirm your official merit with the university admission office.
