How the estimate is calculated
- The tool starts from an approximate new price for the selected model.
- It applies yearly depreciation: about 15% in the first year, then about 10% per year after that, with a minimum floor of 20% of the new price.
- It compares your mileage with the average of about 15,000 km per year. Higher mileage lowers the value; lower mileage raises it slightly.
- It multiplies by the condition factor: excellent 1.00, good 0.93, fair 0.85.
- The low and high values are 8% below and above the mid estimate.
