Vocal Remover

Upload a song and remove the vocals right in your browser. You get a karaoke backing track and a bonus acapella estimate — both free to preview and download. Nothing is uploaded to any server.

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG — anything your browser can play. Stereo songs work best.

How to use

  1. Choose a stereo audio file from your device.
  2. Press "Remove vocals" and wait a few seconds while your browser processes the song.
  3. Preview the karaoke backing track and the acapella estimate with the built-in players.
  4. Download either result as a WAV file for your karaoke night or your own remix.

Note

This tool uses the center-channel removal technique: sounds panned to the middle of a stereo mix (usually the lead vocal) are cancelled out. It works best on studio-mixed stereo songs; mono recordings cannot be separated this way, and some vocal echo may remain. The acapella version is a mathematical estimate, not a studio stem. Your file never leaves your device — please only process songs you have the right to use.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does the vocal remover do?

It removes the lead vocal from a stereo song in your browser using centre channel removal, and also creates an acapella estimate. Both can be downloaded as WAV files.

Which audio files can I use?

MP3, WAV, M4A, OGG — anything your browser can play. Stereo songs work best, because the tool cancels the sound panned to the middle of a stereo mix.

Does it work on mono recordings?

No. Vocal removal needs a stereo recording, because it cancels the sound panned to the middle of the mix; mono files cannot be separated this way.

Why might some vocals or echo remain?

The tool uses center-channel removal, which is an estimate. Some vocal echo can remain, and the acapella version is a mathematical estimate rather than the original studio track.

Is my song uploaded to a server?

No. Your file never leaves your device; everything is processed locally in your browser.
