  4. Use Copy pretty JSON for the formatted output, or Load sample to try a fake Stripe payment_intent payload.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

What does the Webhook Debugger do?

It is a browser-based tool that takes a raw webhook payload in JSON plus optional request headers and analyzes them: it pretty-prints the JSON with highlighting, lists every key as a dotted path with its type, guesses the provider from signature headers, and converts timestamps to human-readable dates.

Is my webhook data sent to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser with JavaScript. Your payload and headers never leave your computer.

How does the event-type guess work?

The tool looks for known signature header names: Stripe-Signature suggests Stripe, X-Hub-Signature or X-GitHub-Event suggests GitHub, X-Shopify-Hmac-Sha256 suggests Shopify, and Svix headers suggest Svix-based providers.

Which timestamps are detected?

Numbers that look like Unix seconds (10 digits) or Unix milliseconds (13 digits) inside the JSON are detected and converted to UTC dates, shown next to the key path.

Is the tool free?

Yes, it is free, works fully client-side, and needs no account or sign-up.
