WebSocket Tester

Connect to any WebSocket server and send and receive messages in real time. Perfect for testing chat servers, live feeds and APIs. Everything runs in your browser — no data is sent anywhere else.

Status: Disconnected 0 messages
No messages yet. Connect to a server and send a message.

How to use

  1. Enter a WebSocket URL starting with ws:// or wss:// and click Connect.
  2. Wait for the status to turn green (connected).
  3. Type a message and click Send (or press Ctrl + Enter). Replies from the server appear in the log below, newest at the bottom.
  4. Click Disconnect when you are done testing.

Note

This tool can only connect to servers that accept WebSocket connections from your browser. If a connection fails, the server may be offline or may be blocking browser connections (CORS policies do not apply to WebSockets, but firewalls do). For a quick test, the default echo server simply sends back whatever you send it.
